What is FAFSA?

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the first and most important step in getting help to pay for college, career training, or trade school. By filling out the FAFSA, students may qualify for free money (grants), work-study opportunities, and low-interest federal student loans. Many states and colleges also use FAFSA information to award their own scholarships and aid.
